Your Brain at Work
Executive Functioning Skills for Student Athletes
Scientists refer to executive functioning skills as a set of skills that relies on three types of brain function: working memory, mental flexibility, and self-control. Children are not born with these skills - they are born with the potential to develop them. A.L.L IN staff work will work with your student athletes in one or all of the areas listed above. Our interactive and engaging workshop will give student athletes the opportunity to assess their current capacity in those areas, improving upon their weaknesses and building on their strengths. The Harvard University Center for the Developing Child states that development of these skills can have positive effects on academic achievement, behaviors, health, and future employability.
